Ranking Starting NFL QB's 2022

Updated: Sep 24, 2022

Sgt. Pepper's top NFL Quarterbacks of 2022... Who will dethrone the Goat? Who will lead their team to the promised land? This is my list... let me know yours in the comments below! Like Comment, and Subscribe!

Ranking NFL Quarterbacks 2022

The NFL is a quarterback driven league, a team only goes as far as your QB1 will take you. Do it well, and you're a king making mountains of cash, do it poorly for few games and you're public enemy number 1.

From the Goat, who's wrath has been feared by everyone that's touched a pigskin post y2k... to some new names on the list looking to cement their legacy amongst the greats...

With old veterans that still dominate including Tom Brady, and Aaron Rodgers, alongside young gunslingers putting up massive numbers like Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, and Joe 'The Ice Man' Burrow...

But where does Super Bowl Champion Matt Stafford fit in, what about NFL MVP Lamar Jackson or alleged serial predator Deshaun Watson... and how far has Baker Mayfield fallen after playing a season with a torn labrum.

How will joining the Colts effect Matt Ryan's legacy... next on Undisputed.

You can rank Quarterbacks based on many traits accuracy, arm strength, mobility, leadership, wife hotness; but the metric I will use for this article, is contribution to winning. How is that calculated you ask? In my head...

If were talking about winning, there is no other place to start then with the undisputed greatest of all time...

1. Tom Brady Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Until Tom Brady's right arm falls of his body, he will remain number one on this list.

It should go unspoken, but year after year these clowns called analysts rank this man lower than the top spot, and year after year he continues to prove any doubters wrong.

Despite loosing his favorite target Rob Gronkowski for 2022, TB will have plenty of firepower at his disposal with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin returning alongside Playoff Lenny, Cameron Brate and Russell Gage...

*****THIS WAS WRITTEN BEFORE JULIO JONES JOINED THIS JUGGERNUAT OFFENSE!!!

Going into his 3rd year as the Buccaneers starter, Tom is only getting better as he gets more comfortable in the system; Can the Goat lead the world’s second greatest city to the promised land once again? Or has the cliff Max Kellerman predicted 7 years ago finally arrived?

With rising competition all over the league it's uncertain that the Buccs will win another ring, but counting the Goat out has never, and will never be a good move, which is why at this point they are my Super Bowl Favorites.

If he continues following the TB12 lifestyle... with the advances in modern science... and his high level of income... there isn’t a reason that Tom Brady couldn't quarterback in the NFL until he’s 60 ... 75 years old.... there does not seem to be and end in sight.

2. Aaron Rodgers Green Bay Packers

The back to back Most Valuable Player, Aaron Rodgers is still the most talented quarterback and greatest thrower of the football in the world.

However unlike the man who proceeds him, he has only closed the deal one time. Now being a Super Bowl winning quarterback is gonna get you laid no matter where you are, but when your discussing the greats, the question is 'How many?'

To me, Rodgers can retire today and be comfortably in my top 5 to ever play the position, but to many... the lack of playoff success is a major knock on an otherwise stellar career.

I truly believe Aaron is hungry to win another ring, and although deep into a spiritual journey... he still has that dog in him. A pandemic of sorts, Aaron Rodgers is another top guy loosing his favorite target Devante Adams.

The lack of weapons may prevent another deep playoff run in Green bay, potentially ending Rodgers career in another underwhelming season. Or will the King of Wisconsin will rise again, and solidify his spot on football Mount Rushmore with a Super Bowl win in 2023.

Aside from the distractions cooked up around the Packers, the zen master has never been more locked in, and a final season Super Bowl push is underway in Green Bay.

3. Patrick Mahomes Kansas City Chiefs

Seems like people might be sleeping on Kermit and Big Red this season, Has the hype cooled off?! Has the league found a solution to the Patrick Mahomes Magic?

Along with the top 2 guys on this list, Patrick is losing his favorite target in 2022, the undisputed fastest man in football Tyreek Hill; now featured in an aquarium in Miami, will be a major loss for the Chiefs offense.

A down season for Patrick is a trip to the AFC Championship and a pro bowl, the man is legit and will only continue to develop under Andy Reid.

His team may not be as good as it once was, but now is the time for Patrick Mahomes to establish himself as either an all-time great or a guy who had an all-time great run.

The goal is repeated success, and the number is 7... if that's even close to attainable for anyone in the next century is debatable, but having multiple winning teams is what separates the goats from a great.

Mahomes is an enigma, a game-changing force that has shifted the way we look at young quarterbacks forever... the terror has not stopped, it's only just beginning.

Mahomes will be amongst the league's top passers for the next decade, and only time will tell where he ends up on the all-time list.

4. Josh Allen Buffalo Bills

A QB with a cannon, a hungry battle-tested well built team ready to make a run, with the rowdiest fans in the world, in the city that invented wings... Who's gonna stop Buffalo from taking home the Lombardi this year?!

Josh Allen has turned the Bills around from a 6 and 10 team in 2018, to a serious contender with a 13 and 3 record just 2 seasons later. Now embedded in Bills culture, the organization knows they have that guy, the players have bought in... and Bills Mafia... they've been waiting for this.... up there in the cold... for far, far too long.

The Bill's offense under Sean McDermott has done nothing but produce, with Stephon Diggs, Gabe Davis, Dawson Knox, and Devin Singletary out of the backfield, Josh Allen has weapons.

With a top defense adding Von Miller, with Jordan Poyer and Micah Hide patrolling the long ball, visiting Highmark Stadium Buffalo, NY will be a tough task for all opposing teams.

Josh Allen has the making of an all-time great, the accuracy, the strength, the leadership, all he needs now is a ring... maybe a couple.

5. Matt Stafford Los Angeles Rams

Matt Stafford is a baller who has been producing for a long time, Calvin Johnson was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame last year, after only 9 seasons of catching passes from Stafford.

The overnight success, forged through 11 cold winters in Detroit. The most prolific example of how a bad organization can ruin a career, winning a Super Bowl for his new team in year one.

Stafford had high expectations just a year ago, joining one of the most well-rounded teams in the league, led by an offensive mastermind in Sean McVey... year one, the boys delivered a Lombardi back home.

The production will only rise in year two with Cooper Kupp, Allen Robinson, and Tyler Higbee all returning; despite the loss of Von Miller, the defense is in good hands with Aaron Donald, Jalen Ramsey, and Bobby Wagner.

From success comes higher expectations, Stafford has been amongst the league's elite for over a decade, adding a ring to his potential hall of fame legacy and an extension until 2026, the Rams will be contending for years. Time to run it back...

6. Joe Burrow Cincinnati Bengals

Joe 'The Ice Man' Burrow has done the impossible not only by making the Bengals relevant in modern times but by taking a 4-11 team in 2020 to the Super Bowl a year later.

The challenge is following up that performance, Joe Burrow is at the high rollers table now… that’s a high reward but even high consequences.

The 2022 Bengals have managed to keep their fleet of weapons, in Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, Tyler Boyd, and Joe Mixon out of the backfield looking to return to form, with another year in the system it’s only bound to get better.

Who Dey say gone beat dem Bengals?! A lot fewer people ever since Joe ‘The Ice Man’ Burrow’s arrival.

7. Lamar Jackson Baltimore Ravens

Pay the man!

Lamar Jackson, the agent must not accept a dollar less than the Deshaun Watson deal... His client is a top 10 Quarterback that has won an MVP award and led his team to a 32-10 record since taking over from Flacco.

With 84 passing touchdowns and 21 rushing tuds over 58 games, there are not many offenses in the league that has sustained that type of production over that span.. the Ravens would be insane to let Lamar Jackson test free agency where he will get every dollar he has earned and is worth.

8. Justin Herbert Las Angeles Chargers

Herby, What an enigma... A young Quarterback in one of the biggest craziest cities in the country; like the players out in Vegas, football could become a secondary thought quickly... to baddies, boozing, and big business.

But so far Justin Herbert has been nothing but locked in, with a 5000+ yard year 2 the Chargers have seemingly found their gunslinger of the next decade, now it's about putting it all together to make a deep playoff push/ SB run.

The 1 time pro bowler, and 2020 Rookie of the Year is only getting better going into his 3rd season, and has the chance to catapult himself into the upper echelon of Quarterbacks with another season like 2021.

With guys like Austin Ekeler, the nicest guy in football since Andrew Luck, Kennan Allen, Mike Williams and Gerald Everett on the offense, across from Joey Bosa, Khalil Mack, Asante Samuel, and Derwin James; the Chargers are ready do something big, maybe even bring Los Angeles another Lombardi.

Only time will tell just how great Justin Herbert will be... but if his first two seasons are any indication of his next 10, its a scary time for defenses defending the Bolts.

Ohh and can we maybe kick one field goal on 4 & 6 this year?!

9. Deshaun Watson Cleveland Browns

No available stats for the 2021 season

We will see if he plays...

I will take the time to write his if and when he takes the field.

10. Russell Wilson Denver Broncos

New Year... New Team... New Russ?! LETS RIDE!!!

After a year or so of public beef between team 3 and the Seattle front office, Russ is the next in line of future Hall of Fame quarterbacks to switch teams late in their career in hopes of adding another ring to his collection.

Trying to replicate the success of Peyton Manning in Denver, Russ joins John Elway in the Mile High city... With a solid receiver core in Cortland Sutton, Tim Patrick, and Jerry Jeudy.

What else is there to say about Russ besides, LET THE MAN COOK... When he gets going... he gets going... going into year ten in a new scheme he/they might not come out of the gates firing but with the talent around him the Broncos should figure it out quickly and start putting some wins together.

11. Derek Carr Las Vegas Raiders

Adding Devante Adams to the Las Vegas reviving core makes the Raiders a true contender.

With Waller, Renfrow, Jacobs and now Adams the Raiders offense is explosive and as dangerous as it gets... the time to start producing is now.

The Raiders are now a contender and are expected to produce in big games... Derek Carr is running out of time and must deliver; the Raiders are in Super Bowl or bust mode for the next few years.

12. Kyler Murray Arizona Cardinals

Kyler Murray is the most elusive athlete on this list with elite ability to avoid the pass rush and escape the pocket.

Watching him play is like a video game with the speed slider all the way up... I hate that I have Kyler so low on this list and I anticipate he starts jumping up this list in the coming years.

Year 3 in Cliff Kingsbury's offense... with a solid roster around him, Kyler is in a system where he can thrive...

13. Matt Ryan Indianapolis Colts

There is a new Sheriff in town, Matt Ryan has taken over the QB1 position that has been in flux since Andrew Luck decided to become an architect instead of a professional athlete.

The Indianapolis Colts have had a super bowl ready roster for years, but without a true QB1 to lead them into battle they have come up short.

Matt has been called an assassin, a Navy Seal, and a CEO since arrive at colts camp, and most importantly he's not named Carson Wentz.

I expect Matt Ryan to have himself a year...

14. Baker Mayfield Carolina Panthers

Revenge Season Baker... chewed up and spit out by the team he made relevant.

Baker Mayfield joins CMC and the boys in Carolina, with to show the league that he can still ball at an elite level.

Before the torn labrum Baker was going into last season ranked #10 on PFF's 2021 Preseason QB rankings.

Baker Mayfield is a competitor to the highest degree... Baker with a chip on his shoulder?! Watch out.

15. Ryan Tannehill Tennessee Titans

Average ass Ryan Tannehill... Here's where the list starts to fall of, the next teir of QB's...

Ryan Tannehill is a great game manager that makes the throws you need to win games. But extending plays, and creating offense isn't in Tannehills wheel house.

Not saying the Titans can't win with Ryan but I'd assume most of the credit will go to King Henry putting the team on his back.

16 Dak Prescott Dallas Cowboys

Dirk Prescott on paper is the greatest Quarterback to ever lace em up. Prototypical size and strength with a cannon for an arm.

But injuries and underwhelming results have plagued Daks career since joining the Cowboys in 2016.

Another guy that can move up this list if he actually plays on Sunday... till then I'll put Cooper Rush at number 33 on this list.

17 Kirk Cousins Minnesota Vikings

Captain Kirk... just good enough to keep his job but not good enough to break through to the other side.

A textbook NFL quarterback... leadership, game planning & managing, IQ wise not many match up with the veteran, but athletics wise there is a lot to be desired.

Kirk Cousins is still a guy you can win with, he's not going to make mistakes that cost you games... but he's not gonna be leading 4 game winning drives in a row in December to send the Purple People Eaters to the chip.

18 Mac Jones New England Patriots

The newest deciple of the Belichick School of football... with the biggest of shoes to fill, Mac Jones involuntary signed up to do the impossible and replace Tom Brady.

19 Daniel Jones New York Giants

Danny Dimes has the intangibles of an all time great, but lack of stability and success have stifled the beginning of his career in New York.

Another team with a void to be filled in the wake of a retired hall of famer, Daniel Jones has to prove this season he is the Giants guy of the future.

With weapons, a respected head coach, and a half decent o line, Danny Dimes has no excuses left... it's time to turn the dumpster fire that is New York football around.

20 Jimmy G San Fransisco 49ers Backup Quarterback

What the hell is Jimmy G doing as a back up quarterback in a league with Jared Goff, Davis Mills, Geno Smith and everyone below this man on this list.

Jimmy G is a winner, and was an inch away from taking Tom Brady's job in New England, now he has been replaced by the young guy they drafted to replace him.

What happens to Jimmy next?! No one knows but until further notice he is QB2 on the San Fransisco bench.

21 Carson Wentz Washington Redskins

Carson Wentz stinks and should probably be lower on this list.

This is a man that some how never fails to ruin every great thing he does... he'll make a 40 yard pass down field, and miss the next snap for a 20 yard loss. It is almost comical how bad situations just find this man.

Godspeed Carson, but you gotta figure something out...

22 Jalen Hurtz Philadelphia Eagles

Some might say I'm biased against NFC East Quarterbacks not named Daniel Jones... but those people don't know ball. Jalen Hurtz will lose his job to Gardner Minshew by Week 8; if not, he is probably going insane.

I am rooting against Jalen Hurtz in Philly, not him in the NFL as a whole... but odds are I'm wrong and the guy can play.

23 Justin Fields Chicago Bears

Bear Dahn! Justin Fields is another one of those guys who’s just on a bad football team and it may really limit his abilities.

I hope in spight of having a terrible o line, and defense with sub-par weapons, Justin Fields is able to ball out and move up this list.

24 Trevor Lawrence Jacksonville Jaguars

Although last season was an absolute atrocity in Duval, T Law is the prototype and has the intangibles of an all time great… but the say quarterbacks are a product of their environment.

Hopefully Super Bowl champion head Coach Doug Pederson can turn around a building that appeared to be in flames just a year ago in the aftermath of the infamous back door finger gun incident of 2021.

25 Marcus Mariota Atlanta Falcons

It's gonna be exciting to see Mariota take the field once again and potentially revive his career as a starting QB... filling the shoes of 'navy seal' Matt Ryan might be tough, but there are minimal expectations on the new starter in ATL.

He has some explosive weapons in a restocked Atlanta offense with Kyle Pitts, Drake London, Bryan Edwards, and running back Cordarrelle Patterson.

26 Jameis Winston New Orleans Saints

Jaboo Winston is by far my favorite quarterback ever to play the position. From licking those crab legs in college to eating W's, this man has been an electric factory of internet content for years.

And his play on the field is just as exciting with the ability to win the game for either team on any play... Jaboo wins, with an absolute cannon will hopefully throw for another 30 td 30 int season in New Orleans.

27 Trey Lance San Francisco 49ers

Trey is this low, simply for the lack of evidence, not that studying 49ers training camp film isn't one of my passions, but I have no idea how this guy will be... hopefully facing off with that loaded 49ers D will help sharpen the sword.

High upside, considering the 49ers FO kicked Jimmy G out of town for him, and he seems to have the respect of his teammates and the media... Godspeed Trey Lance!

28 Zach Wilson New York Jets

The New York Jets are an interesting team in an interesting time in the post-Brady AFC East. With a well-built roster under Coach Saleh, this team will go as far as Milf Hunter Zach Wilson will take them!

29 Tua Tagovailoa Miami Dolphins

With the addition of Tyreek Hill, to a solid cast of weapons including Jalen Waddle and 732 Legend Mike Geiseki the Dolphins might be a real problem this year.

An explosive offense under first-year ‘offensive genius’ head coach from the McVey tree, the dolphins are definitely a team to keep an eye on this season if Tua can make a jump.

30 Mitch Trubisky Pittsburgh Steelers

Mitch Trubisky is QB1, with big shoes to fill, in the aftermath of Big Ben Era in the Steel City.

Following a 43-passing yard season in 2021, Mitch at least has a chance to reestablish himself as an NFL starting Quarterback.

31 Jared Goff Detroit Lions

This guy is still in the league?! I feel for coach Dan Campbell, but I mean what do you expect to take the Lions Job...

Jared Goff Stinks, the Lions stunk with Super Bowl Champion Matthew Stafford under center... and now their head coach can throw a football further than QB1.

32 Davis Mills Houston Texans

I am a huge supporter of Mills Mafia, and there's literally only room to move up this list...

Godspeed to the king of Houston. Hopefully, the Davis Mills era ends better than the previous regime.
