The day we've all been waiting for... after a long boring offseason, pretending to care about sports no one watches. Sifting through tweet after tweet from insider after insider grasping at straws trying to make stories out of nothing, the game we all know and love is back every Sunday from here on out...
It's time... time for cold beers, time for doinks, and double doinks.. time for INTs to the crib, and tuddy celebrations that get flagged... and pass interference calls, and missed coverages...
It's time to ball out, time for all of the work from OTA's and Training Camp to be executed to the highest level... It's time for legends to grow, and time for stories to be told... It's time for NFL Football!
Bills vs. Rams
In game one of the Los Angeles Rams Reign as returning Super Bowl Champions, they will be lining up against the sports book's current Super Bowl Favorites, the Buffalo Bills.
In an explosive Rams offense for his second year, Matthew Stafford is looking to avoid the Super Bowl hangover… versus the gunslinging slasher Josh Allen, who’s is favored to win his first Lombardi while hunting goats along the way.
Give me the Bills in a toss-up and whatever the over is… with two 5000-plus-yard passers taking the gridiron for the first time in a long time, these two fellas are gonna be slinging. If it wasn’t two of the best defenses in the league this game might be 86-67 when it’s all said and done.
49ers v. Bears
Our first look at the new regimes under two potential big-time QBs in their first full year as an NFL Starting Quarterback.
Trey Lance vs Justin Fields is a rivalry both fan bases are hoping will continue for the next decade. Gimme the 9ers but I expect an impressive performance from Justin Fields against a stacked 49ers Defense.
Who knows what's next for QB2 Jimmy Garrapolo... But it's time:
Patriots v. Dolphins
The Evil Empire post battle of Jakku, on their last legs… will Sith Lord Bellichick show his padawan the ways of the dark side… or will they allow a full Jedi takeover in the 11th hour of the Patriots Dynasty?!
Starting off against their long-time chew toy, the Miami Dolphins… with Russell Wilson lite and his newest weapon Tyreek Hill, will the Dolphs have the juice to take over the wide-open AFC East?!
Mac Jones and Tua Tagovailoa have both shown flashes of greatness, and both possess the talent to establish themselves as their team's guys going forward; but in a league that only cares about winning right now, the young stars will have to make strides in the early part of this season to secure their jobs for the long haul.
Give me the Dolphins… with a massive 120-yard, 2-tud game outta 732 Legend and a top 5 tight end in the league Mike Geiseki. I’m higher on the Pat's long-term but it’s any given Sunday and this ain’t the week for the team in Red White and Blue.
Colts v. Texans
I really don't know what to think of either of these teams, as an avid Pat McAfee Show watcher I wanna say the Colts with 'Navy Seal' Matt Ryan, are about to make a run to the Super Bowl... but idk.
And the Texans, a once feared squad now in a New Era of mediocrity after losing every player they had that was of any value, these are two teams that are tough to project throughout a full season...
Not in this game though, Colts by a million. The Indianapolis Colts have seemingly found their guy, a new refreshed Matt Ryan with a Chip on his shoulder, post-Super Bowl debacle and now being shipped out of town by the team he's carried for over a decade.
They got weapons all around in Michael Pittman, Alec Pierce and Moe Alie-Cox along with the extremely dangerous duo of Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines out of the backfield...
Maybe this year Matty Ice can take this juiced roster to the promised land a time or two... For the Shoe!
Ravens v. Jets
No disrespect to Gang Green but I hope the schedule gods are nicer to the Jets in week two. Lamar will return with vengeance after seeing all of his buddies get the massive deal he has earned.
Will Lamar be a Raven in 2023?!
I don't know... but the 'Running Back' with a better arm than your starter, will be wreaking havoc this season... and should be one of the top MVP candidates.
Gang Green should see a pretty big improvement from their 3-14 record just a season ago, but they're closer to my squad 'Big Blue' than they are to the top teams in the AFC.
Hopefully, NY football will bounce back to greatness quickly but this doesn't seem like the year for either New York Squad...
I HOPE I'M WRONG!
Packers v. Vikings
A rivalry as old as time with two QBs as old as dirt… my Goat vs the purple people eaters week one.
Aaron Rodgers sets out to become the first three-peat, shaman, unvaxxed, MVP in league history and it starts Sunday night against the Vikings.
Kirk and Justin Jefferson are set to have a massive year, but I'm taking ARod and his CFL receiving core...
Raiders v. Chargers
It’s the Davante Adams era in Vegas from here on out… rejoining his college QB Derek Carr for the first time in the NFL, Devante will be trying to continue his reign as the league's top target.
But the new-look Raiders aren't the only contender in this Matchup, the LA Chargers are as competitive a club as any...
Led by Warren Sharpe's wet dream Brandon Staley, and a new but proven gunslinger Justin Herbert the Chargers should be near the top of any offensive ranking list you can find.
With a lot riding on this season for both teams, I expect them to come out of the gates firing in what could potentially be the game of the week...
If I have to pick, I'm going with the Chargers unless they go for it on 4th and 6 in their own territory and lose the ball a few times, either way, it is truly anyone's game.
Buccaneers v. Cowboys Sunday Night Football
TB12, fresh off a two-week rest mid-training camp vs the most overrated team of every NFL season. I don't know who will win the NFC East this season, all I know for sure is that the Cowboys will find a way to blow it.
I assume delusional-ass Jerry Jones has them going 17-0 and straight through the playoffs to a super bowl, but unfortunately, their season starts off against Goat Brady.
Eagles v. Lions
Who really cares?! Ya know... Lions and the under cause fuck the Eagles.
Official pick changed to eagles at the last second.
Steelers v. Bengals
For the first time in about a quarter century, the Pittsburgh Steelers will take the field not led by Large Ben. Mitch Trubisky is still listed as the starter even though we all know it's Pickettsburgh from here on out.
The returning AFC Champions will have their way with the Steelers on Sunday, and remind the world why they were 1 of 2 standing at the end of last season.
Hopefully, Coach T can keep his .500+ record alive, but as long as it's Mitchburgh and not Pickettburgh the more unlikely that will be.
Browns v. Panthers
Revenge game Baker... is there anything else I need to say?!
Regardless of how you feel about Baker Mayfield's play and where it ranks amongst his peers, one thing that is undisputed is that Baker is one of the pettiest people alive... I'd be surprised if he doesn't throw for 500 yards and 5 tuds out of spite.
Panthers by a Million... Godspeed Jacoby Brissett!
Saints v. Falcons
New teams... New Era... Old Quarterbacks with new chances.
Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota each have an opportunity to revive their career in solid organizations, with weapons the likes of Mike Thomas and Kyle Pitts respectively, each of these two have a real chance to produce.
I'm gonna take the Saints, solely because Jaboo Wins... In Jameis We Trust!
Jaguars v. Commanders
The only Opening weekend game not to sell out... probably. Unless you live at the White House or in Duval County I'm pretty sure you need a VPN just to watch this game.
Give me the Commies, IDK why I just feel like Carson might come out strong with his new weapons and fade off by week 4. Scary Terry is a menace as well.
Giants v. Titans
BIG BLUE!! It’s finally time… to shit or get off the pot. It's Daniel’s year, to either put the City of New York on his back or just let it slip.
I am obviously taking the team from the Greatest City on Earth... although Derek Henry will be hunting Big Blue defensive Line men, and Taylor Lewan will be pancaking mother fuckers all game...
The New York Football Giants will win this game with contributions from Saquon, Danny Dimes, and Kadarious Toney breakout WR1 in 2022... If not us then who?! If not now then when?!
Chiefs v. Cardinals
Patty Ice vs. The Fastest Quarterback since Michael Vick... This game will be an electric factory with big numbers and big plays. The Boys are back like they never left!
A more mature Kyler Murray with parental controls on might just be scarier than the league is anticipating... an underrated arm with 99-speed Kyler Murray and Cliff Kingsbury have made defenses look like Pop warner teams on occasion, but this week.... it is the Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs who win this one.
Humbled last year by a Money McPhearson walk-off field goal, the Kansas City Chiefs return with a chip on their shoulder and down a man... the fastest man in football Tyreek Hill.
Look out for KC to be hungry as ever and begin a scary run terrorizing teams across the league all season.
Broncos v Seahawks Monday Night Football
And a revenge game to cap off the inaugural weekend of the 2022 NFL Season... Russell Wilson will face his old team in Seattle, and the full wrath of the 12th man on the opposing sideline for the first time.
